Scope noticeThis policy applies to eligible SLDBK-branded electric bikes and components purchased directly from sldbkbike.com unless the product page or a written sales agreement states different terms. Products sold under a third-party brand are covered by the warranty identified on their product page or by the applicable manufacturer’s written policy. Complimentary promotional items are excluded unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Eligibility & Warranty Period

The limited warranty starts on the date the original purchaser receives the product and continues for one year. The order record serves as the initial registration; no separate activation is required.

Who may make a claim

The original retail purchaser may submit a claim using the original order details and proof of purchase. The remaining warranty may transfer once to a subsequent owner when the original warranty has not expired and the new owner supplies the original purchaser’s name, order number, proof of purchase, product serial number, and evidence of transfer.

A transfer does not restart, renew, or extend the original coverage period. Commercial, rental, fleet, racing, wholesale, and bulk purchases are governed by the applicable written sales agreement unless expressly included here.

What the Warranty Covers

Under normal consumer use, correct assembly, and proper maintenance, SLDBK will diagnose and, at its option, repair, replace, or provide another reasonable remedy for an eligible component confirmed to have failed because of a manufacturing or material defect.

Primary systems

  • Main frame and structural chassis;
  • Original lithium-ion battery pack;
  • Motor and electronic controller;
  • Primary wiring harness and display;
  • Original charger supplied with the product.

Original components

  • Fork and suspension components;
  • Handlebar, seat post, saddle, hubs, rims, and kickstand;
  • Brake assemblies, excluding normal wear of pads and rotors;
  • Throttle, switches, headlight, and taillight;
  • Other original parts confirmed on the applicable product page.

Coverage applies to the defective component, not automatically to the complete vehicle. Replacement parts may be new or functionally equivalent service parts where allowed by law.

Frame & Structural Coverage

The original main frame and structural chassis are covered for one year against verified manufacturing, welding, or material failure under normal intended use.

This coverage does not include paint, decals, surface finish, cosmetic scratches, corrosion caused by storage or environment, crash or impact damage, overloading, stunt use, or any drilling, welding, bending, cutting, or structural modification. Labor or third-party installation charges require written approval before work begins.

Battery Coverage

The original SLDBK battery is covered against verified manufacturing defects for one year. Gradual capacity reduction from age, temperature, charging history, storage, and normal use is expected and is not itself a defect.

Months 0–6Primary Coverage PeriodWhen diagnostics confirm a manufacturing defect, SLDBK may repair or replace the battery without charging for the covered battery remedy. Any logistics arrangement remains subject to lithium-battery shipping rules and applicable law.
Months 7–12Diagnostic Resolution PeriodFor a confirmed manufacturing defect, SLDBK may provide repair, replacement support, or another reasonable remedy based on diagnostic results. Where permitted, the customer may be responsible for approved round-trip logistics.

A repaired or replacement battery does not create a new warranty period; it remains covered for the balance of the original term or any longer minimum required by law.

Lithium battery safetyDo not ship a battery without written instructions. Stop using it immediately if it is swollen, leaking, overheating, damaged, emitting an unusual odor, or involved in a severe impact. Use only a compatible charger approved for the exact battery voltage and connector.

Not Covered

The limited warranty does not cover damage, faults, or costs caused by:

  • Normal wear, aging, cosmetic change, or routine adjustment;
  • Crash, collision, impact, stunt riding, racing, misuse, neglect, overloading, or improper storage;
  • Water immersion, pressure washing, corrosion, fire, extreme heat or cold, or environmental exposure outside published limits;
  • Incorrect assembly, maintenance, transportation, charging, or use contrary to the manual;
  • Use of incompatible chargers, batteries, controllers, parts, software, or accessories;
  • Unauthorized repair, disassembly, tuning, rewiring, hot-wiring, speed-limit removal, firmware change, or other modification;
  • Failure to provide requested evidence, serial number, purchase proof, or reasonable diagnostic cooperation;
  • Lost items, theft, vandalism, or damage caused by a carrier after an unauthorized shipment.

Consumable and wear items

Brake pads, brake rotors, tires, inner tubes, chains, belts, chainrings, cassettes, grips, bearings, cables, seals, and spokes are normally excluded. A wear item may still qualify when clear evidence shows it was defective when supplied rather than worn through ordinary use.

This exclusion does not limit statutory remedies for defective goods.

Diagnostics, Parts & Repair

Remote diagnostics

Our support team may request photographs, videos, voltage readings, display error codes, odometer information, or safe troubleshooting steps. Do not perform a procedure you are not qualified or comfortable to complete.

Replacement parts

When appropriate, we may send an approved replacement component with written or video instructions. The defective component may need to be returned before or after replacement. Availability, safe shipping requirements, and local law may affect the remedy.

Local professional service

Contact SLDBK before authorizing third-party labor. Inspection, labor, towing, storage, transport, or repair charges incurred without prior written authorization are not reimbursable unless mandatory law provides otherwise. We may approve a reasonable local repair quote when remote replacement is unsafe or impractical.

Shipping Damage

Shipping damage is handled separately from a standard warranty claim. Inspect the package promptly and report visible or functional transit damage within 7 calendar days after delivery.

Keep the carton and internal packaging. Provide the order number, photographs of all sides of the carton and shipping label, photographs of internal packaging and affected components, and video when needed to demonstrate a functional issue. Do not assemble, ride, repair, or discard the packaging before receiving instructions.

See the Return & Refund Policy for the complete damage-reporting procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the one-year warranty begin on the order date?
No. Unless written terms state otherwise, coverage begins when the original purchaser receives delivery.
Does the warranty cover normal battery capacity loss?
No. Lithium-ion batteries gradually lose capacity through normal use and aging. A sudden abnormal failure may qualify if diagnostics confirm a manufacturing defect.
Can I take the bike to a local repair shop?
Yes, but contact SLDBK first. Labor and third-party charges require written authorization before work begins if reimbursement is requested.
Can I modify the controller or remove the speed limit?
Unauthorized electrical, software, controller, wiring, battery, or speed modifications can make the vehicle unsafe and may void coverage for related failures.
Who pays shipping for a warranty part?
This depends on the diagnostic result, product, destination, warranty stage, applicable law, and safe lithium-battery shipping requirements. We will confirm any cost before dispatch.
Is a replacement part covered for another full year?
No. A repaired or replacement component normally remains covered only for the balance of the original warranty term, unless mandatory law requires a longer period.
